Safety Challenge

Macy got to go to Safety Camp again in June.  Jarett was not old enough, but he got to participate in the Safety challenge and he should be able to do it the next time.

Here is a picture my neighbor took after calling the fire department--it was a false alarm, but while the firemen were checking things out and waiting for the all clear, they let Jarett and Asher play with the fire hose--WHAT a COOL treat!!!  This actually happened June 19th in the afternoon--we did the safety challenge that morning.

Jarett being sprayed by Asher

Jarett taking his turn with the REAL fire hose.

Jarett at the safety challenge "driving  the fire truck."  The safety challenge is really cool, they start out laying down in bed at the fire house and the firefighter says, "You get a call, what number do you call if there is a fire?"  The kids get a chance to reply: 9-1-1.

Here Jarett is "hammering down a door" to get to the people inside the fire.

Here Macy and Jarett are practicing getting low, under the smoke.

Macy spraying water--she is aiming at a cone, and when the cone falls over, the "fire is out."

Jarett doing an outstanding job spraying water to "put out the fire."  I don't have a picture here, but after the "fire is out," they get to drag a dummy to safety, and the challenge is over.  Each of the kids did the entire challenge about 5-6 times.  They LOVED it.

Macy and Jarett hanging out at Justin street at the Safety Village.  It is really a cool place.

Some super cute firefighters with a real fireman!

Wow! I've never taken my kids there. I'm sure they would love it. Please send me the dates! And I'm guessing the false alarm was at your old house?
