On Dec 1 we visited the state capital with Macy's kindergarten class after school for the special tree lighting event. Macy's kindergarten class was the only kindergarten class in the state of OK that had the opportunity to decorate ornaments for the State Capital Christmas trees. Macy had fun painting her ornament, and gluing sequins and feathers on it. The best part is she did it all by herself.
Here is Governor Henry talking to Macy. He did not stop to talk to anyone else in class. I guess it pays to be a little late and get stuck on the end. I asked Macy what he said to her, and this was her reply, "My, what a pretty dress you are wearing."
Macy and her Kindergarten class. Santa was a big hit for the class, much more impressive than the governor of OK.
#7 and #8 in matching dresses. Macy and Lydia are 8 and 7 in line everyday (alphabetical order by first name.) They have gotten to be good friends at school. It was so fun to see that they had the same Christmas dress. Macy knows the name and number of all the children in her class.
Grandma Billie got to go to the Capital with us for the special tree lighting event. We did not stay to watch the tree lighting, as I had a meeting to get to at church. We had a lot of fun hearing a band and watching some Spanish dancers.
Dec 3rd, we set off to see Santa at the mall. Case never cried while on Santa's lap. When we left and walked by Santa again on the way out of the mall, Case waved and said, "Hi there," to Santa...so sweet.
Macy telling Santa what she would like for Christmas. She also gave Santa an idea for what to bring Case. Santa at North Park in OKC is WONDERFUL. We probably spent 15 minutes talking with Santa and taking pictures with Santa. He did not have a line, and Santa was so friendly and wanted to talk to the children--we will always go to see Santa there. We did purchase a pictures of the 3 all together with Santa and the proceeds went to the Rotary Club. Look at Jarett's face--he looks frozen...
..He was frozen. Jarett finally talked to Santa about the second thing he wanted for Christmas--a rip rider 360 and a pirate ship. He told Santa one thing but froze and forgot to tell the other thing. I think he was relieved that he did not miss his chance.
Jarett and Santa. His smile shows relief.
Macy sitting in Santa's lap. She asked for some Calico bunnies with a bottle and paci, a baby that drinks water and wets her diaper, and a unicorn pillow pet.
Case loved looking at the water fountain in the mall and enjoyed cruising around the fountain.
This brings back many memories for me. My brother and I would throw pennies into the fountain at North Park Mall in OKC, then we would dig out other peoples pennies and throw more pennies into the water--my how history repeats itself.
